Just for anyone who needs to hear this, there is no such thing as lowball offers on eBay. I’ll explain.
When a seller creates a listing and enables “Best Offer,” they set the lowest dollar amount that they are willing to accept. All offers below that amount are automatically rejected by eBay’s system.
This is essentially the seller setting a boundary of the dollar amount that they are comfortable receiving. In any healthy relationship, people set boundaries so they can be comfortable. Assuming the seller is well in the head, the seller will be setting their boundaries to exactly the price they are comfortable with. Anything lower is automatically rejected, and the seller won’t even be notified. You aren’t going to offend the seller if you offer a lower amount, because they won’t even be aware of the low offer.
If you can find that threshold through trial and error, you can save money. Don’t worry about offending or bothering sellers with a low offer; the system has been designed to prevent such annoyances. They won’t see your lowball offers because on eBay, there is no such thing. So offer low and get a deal!
