So IDK what I was thinking when I bought this thing. I guess I was assuming I’d be able to plug it in and find it in OBS? Nope. It doesn’t appear in OBS.

this guy made a driver

Installing the driver can have issues

This guy was having an issue https://superuser.com/questions/1675685/strange-video-distortion-capturing-video-from-gv-usb2-on-linux-using-ffmpeg

How to view the GV-USB2 feed using linux CLI tools

ffplay for viewing

ffplay -f video4linux2 -pix_fmt uyvy422 -i /dev/video0 -c:v libx264

Ultimately, I did not use GV-USB2 on Linux

The driver is insufficient. There are visual glitches every few seconds. I did not find a solution under linux.

I switched to Windows 10, where GV-USB2 was immediately recognized in OBS.
