ship, freighter, technology

My FICO score is 599. It used to be at 800 before I got these three credit cards and maxed them out like a chump. I’m going to get out of debt someday soon, and improve my credit. I’m doing my darndest to make it happen!

Look at my net worth making a comeback!

I had a little slip up. I was late on a credit card payment because I didn’t put the due date in my calendar. I suppose I should set up autopay.

I just set up autopay. I think it’s very important to make payments on these cards and not be late. Doing so will make a huge difference on the how long I am to stay in debt.

I’ve got a song stuck in my head. It’s the intro/outro song from the youtube series, Yoga with Adriene.

Such a great yoga instructor. She’s probably the best yoga instructor on Youtube. I’ve only seen probably 7 instructors on youtube so far LOL, but she’s the best. She describes everything so well, to the point where I don’t have to watch the screen to know what I should be doing.

Bird is probably #2, if only for the consistently low audio levels on her videos. I literally have to max out my speakers every time I start a Yoga with Bird video. She’s so good though. Her vinyasa yoga flows are wonderful and exciting.

I’m really tired today. Yesterday I wanted to nap, but I couldn’t fall asleep due to the amount of food I had eaten. I’ve been working out every day and I’m really feeling the need to take it easy and recover. My right foot is especially stiff this morning.

I’m not allowing myself to take a break though. My new workout routine is, “no off days, but easy days are okay.” I’m thinking that today I am not going to walk much. I walked to the mailbox this morning and that’s all I really want to do for walking. Maybe I’ll walk more once I finish writing, I’m not sure.

But what I am definitely doing today is more yoga. I am feeling stiff and sleepy and yoga is sure to relieve my stuff muscles and energize my mind.

I used to take naps a lot to give me a boost of energy. Now I think yoga might be a better activity than napping in some cases. There are cases where I feel like I should be lively and awake, but I get tired because my body aches. I think yoga is the solution there. There are times when I am mentally exhausted, and a nap still makes the most sense.

My DHL package didn’t show up yesterday as was scheduled. I didn’t get an exception notification or anything. It was in Seattle yesterday at 5AM so Hopefully it shows up today.

I’m so stoked to open that box and get it’s contents listed on eBay. SO. STOKED.

I’m thinking I’m going to start to pull cards from my eBay listings that haven’t sold in awhile. I could bulk those unsold cards together into a pack which might be more appetizing for buyers. The problem is that few people probably want 50 random cards from 8 different P-Memories card sets. I suppose maybe if I spread the cards out and show the card faces, some people might jump on that.

I know that’s precisely what I do when I buy cards via Buyee. The card lots I have bought are probably considered low-value to the seller, but I have found quite a bit of value from those lots. I bet there’s a buyer out there who would prefer quantity over quality!

I’m getting distracted from writing this morning. Too excited to receive new product! There’s a seller on yahoo auctions Japan from which I got some incredible deals on booster packs. I’m checking out their offerings and seeing if there’s any more super deals like that!

Holy shit, I just found a goldmine. This seller has complete, unopened K-ON booster boxes for $72! Holy shit! I just sold a booster pack from that same series box for $60! I have to buy these booster boxes right now!

I bought two booster boxes from them, and a 3 pack of Bakemonogatari booster packs. I spent a total of $178.09 which is a fucking steal!

Steal as it may be, that’s a lot of money for me. I’m definitely not going to be able to afford that $85 gaming headset I wanted so badly! I’ll have to wait another day for that.

I did find a Sennheiser GSP 300 on OfferUp for $30 + $7 shipping. I sent an offer, but so far I have had bad luck with OfferUp sellers ever responding to me. I’m not expecting a reply, but that would be a great deal for the headset and I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I could get it for that cheap. Heck, I might even just flip it if I could get it that cheap! It looked barely used in the picture. We’ll see.

I’m going to adjust my global shipping settings. I had a recent overseas sale which was handled by eBay global shipping. I can only imagine the kind of fee the seller had to pay. Anyway, what I want to do is add a global shipping option to all my trading cards, with the aim to enticing a global audience and increasing overall sales.

International shipping enabled! All trading cards now have a calculated fee for USPS First Class Mail, plus a $3 handling fee. Nice!

I love finding deals, and I love spending money online. I love this job!

When it comes to acquiring product from Japan, I think there are all sorts of avenues I could take. Certain listings on Yahoo auctions won’t accept orders via Buyee. I look forward to the day when I can try out another resource available to me, https://otsukai.com/

I can’t remember how I heard about otsukai, but I thought it was just another company like Buyee. Turns out that it’s not that at all. Otsukai is just a service which incentivizes regular people in Japan to be a shipper-forwarder. Otsukai just provides the communication platform, order status updates, escrow, and feedback system.

What’s nice about that is that there’s no way Yahoo auctions or any other seller can block shipment forwarding, because the seller is going to have no idea that a shipper-forwarder is the person buying from them!

I’ll stick with Buyee for the time being, because I think it’s a little more robust in terms of getting exactly what I want. It seems that Otsukai is more like a, “get me something like…” and the shipper-forwarders go look for it. I think there is a way to say, “get me https://cooljapanstore.co.jp/itm/005” but then there can be communication barriers.

Anyway, it’s a good resource to have up my sleeve, for when Buyee wouldn’t work.

Man, I hope my DHL shipment arrives today. I dunno what’s up with that. The tracking page updated to say the delivery date is unknown.

I was planning on taking photos and listing yesterday. That didn’t work out, so I was hoping to do it today. As of now, I don’t even know if I will be doing that until Monday!

All I can do is wait. I suppose I have a lot of card organization that I could be doing. I could list some non-trading card things on eBay as well. How boring! LOL.

I played JackBox games 3 with my friend J. last night. He had a friend streaming it via youtube. I ran into all sorts of trouble with the game. Firstly, the stream lagged about 20 seconds behind of my game. I missed so many questions because the stream had yet to show me prompt before the time to answer the question expired.

We played Tee K.O. which is a brilliant game where players come up with interesting shirt designs and vote on them. At the end of the game, players can actually purchase the shirts which were created during the game! Absolutely fantastic concept and such a novel monetization strategy. Props to Jackbox studios for such a fun game.

Anyway, I wasn’t able to submit a single drawing during two bouts of Tee K.O. because of technical issues I was having with the game. Maybe Websockets is unreliable over LTE internet, but the game was completely bugged out. I would be presented with the drawing screen for about 10 seconds after which it would disappear and I’d just be staring at the default logo screen.

After a long delay, the drawing screen might show up for a few more seconds, and I’d just barely create a crude drawing and click submit, only to realize that the game had not registered my drawing submission. It was really frustrating, especially since I take great pleasure in drawing games.

Further, I wasn’t able to vote properly because of the stream lag. I’d be repeatedly presented with a vote between two shirt designs, one of which was 20 seconds away from appearing in my screen!

Quiplash was slightly better, in that I didn’t have to draw anything, but the stream lag kept things difficult, frustrating, and at times, impossible.

Goddamn, did I mention that I’m jonesin’ for that DHL shipment? I don’t know what else I’m going to do today!

I am stuck on D3.js. I tried to adapt an example to the game stats I have, but I can’t get the graph to display outside of Observablehq.com. I’m missing something. I’m missing the secret sauce that ObservablHQ uses to render the chart to the DOM. It’s like ObservableHQ wants everyone to just use their website to develop with D3, and not port out the creations to other websites!

I’m probably being completely ignorant to ObservableHQ’s mission. I bet they have a tutorial entirely dedicated to exporting D3 creations to plain HTML+JS. I haven’t even looked. I’m just being lazy.

I’m feeeeling lazy! I wanna go back to sleep. I stayed up late again, playing Squad by myself. I did good though, I moderated my time in game by limiting myself to 3 matches.

I think I’m going to try and nap.

Tonight my mom wants to have a campfire for mother’s day. It’s a huge social taboo right now to have group gatherings, but I think the coronavirus quarantine is mostly bullshit and we need to wrap it up now, and get the economy back up and running.

We might have overreacted with the shutdowns. I’m not sure yet, but right now I’m thinking that that is the case. People hyped the fear, and shut down. It’s been over a month of this nonsense and it’s time to move forward.

Let’s move forward to a new normal. If you’re sick, quarantine yourself. Wear a fucking mask if you have to go out. Keep a 1 month inventory of food and supplies on hand. Keep an emergency InstaCart fund so you can get supplies when you’re quarantined.

Don’t. Go. To. Work. When. You. Are. Coughing.

As I write this, I feel I’m making absurd demands. People aren’t going to quit working unless they are compelled to do so. There is no incentive to be a good person and stop the spread of infection by staying home. So I guess fuck it. There’s no economic incentive, so nothing’s probably going to change.

Ok then, I’ll leave this problem to Bill Gates.

2:22PM. I slept for a good 3 or 4 hours. I feel great. No change on the DHL shipment. I bet it’s going to be Monday before I see any update.

I need a new mouse. I was playing Squad last night when it completely wigged out. I was moving it around, but my character wasn’t turning at all. I was frozen in place for a good five seconds. The mouse buttons worked, but I couldn’t turn at all. I can only imagine how bad that would have been if I were in a firefight and unable to point at a target and shoot. The left mouse button is wearing out as well. Sometimes I click but the click is not registered.

Similar story with my keyboard. It’s a cheap $5 used Lenovo keyboard which I got from Recycle Techs many moons ago. The W button is wearing out. Somtimes I’ll press it down but I won’t be walking forward in game. Other times, I’ll press down, but the key isn’t registered unless I press it down hard. Cheap membrane switches!

I’m feelin’ a little angry! I’m disappointed in DHL. I can’t think of anything more enjoyable than opening my DHL package and beginning to sort through the contents. I can’t do that because DHL didn’t deliver on time!

Well, I think there’s probably a good chance that DHL is not at fault. The delay could have more to do with the decrease of flights that has occurred due to SARS-CoV-2.

16. I matter.
17. I can find peace through prayer and meditation.
18. I am strong.

I’m grateful for DHL, because they’re they’re one of the few shipping services that can actually get product to my house during the COVID-19 craze.

I’m grateful for toilets, because they are efficient and relatively clean at disposing poo and pee.

I’m grateful for shiny things, because they trick my brain into being happy. LOL, shiny cards. Love ’em!
