Productive day today!
LIME GREEN buyee package #1 showed up at my doorstep today!
The package had a 69 day journey to get to me. Apparently there was some sort of glitch or flaw or someone forgot to scan the thing, but the last update I saw was on July 4th, 2020. Japan Post tracking website hasn’t updated in all that time…
Ohh, shit! I’m wrong. The tracking website actually updated!
The funny thing is that Packagerader stops tracking packages after a certain amount of time. Luckily there is a button to click which re-enables tracking. I’m a big fan of packageradar!
Well then, now I know what to expect for the other 3 packages that I have on the way.
I need bags and boxes. I did a little running in place and I came up with the conclusion that I can put off on buying card boxes for now, because I have a 450 card size spare box, and I have a “work in progress” box that could be converted to a card storage box.
Crisis avoided!
I still need bags though. I have only 2 or 3 poly bags left, which I’ve been using for storing small card collections on my slatwall, and sending to customers.
I’m thinking of buying from ULINE. I can’t remember the exact product I was searching for, but I did a price comparison between eBay and ULINE and ULINE was the clear winner.
I’ll definitely get a better price per piece by going through ULINE. Honestly the #1 thing that has been keeping me from buying from ULINE is the fact that they send out that fucking catalog every quarter or whatever.
I remember the catalogs from when I worked at Industrial Communications. I literally never looked at those catalogs, and I always had a stack of like six that just took up space on my shipping shelf.
Fuck that catalog, I don’t need it and I don’t want it!
As I ran in place, I realized that there is a use for that catalog that I haven’t yet considered. The pages can be ripped out and used as packing material! Suddenly the idea of a free catalog isn’t so bad.
Well, I think I need to put off on ordering bags as well. I’ve hit my reorder point for coin envelopes, which I’ve previously been using to reinforce letters that I send out. Instead of using bags, I’m working through my collection of Ultrapro top loader card protectors. I have hundreds of letter envelopes, so I have no real need for the coin envelopes right now.
I think it would be good to figure out a way to do without the bags. I might change my mind on this… The bags have become pretty important for organization and presentation.
That’s the thing about e-commerce. My customer will never see my physical inventory. The only interface they have with my brand is my internet storefront, and the package they receive from me. I like it when my packages are well packed, clean and professional looking, because I think that gives my customers a good impression and confidence in my operation.
I have rent coming up at the end of the month. My dad said he wants to be paid in Ethereum. Hell yeah! That’s going to be fun to teach him how to use a wallet. I’ve been wanting to teach someone how to use cryptocurrencies for a long time, but I haven’t had any good candidates. I’m stoked to teach him and pay my rent in a currency I actually have trust in!
But yeah, rent. Also eBay Expenses and credit card bills. I’m having a hard time investing in poly bags when I have all these upcoming payments. Hopefully the sticker thing is a good move. Hopefully I can build a good revenue stream from that.
I still haven’t received my CAMEO 3. I have a feeling that the seller is stalling. They have zero feedback on eBay so I bet they are hung up on the part where they actually have to ship the item to me.
I’m not worried about it. I’ve got eBay/Paypal buyer protection and I’ll get my thing or my money back. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just delayed like what has been the case with so many USPS shipments lately.
I’m going to re-enable my buyee e-mail alerts so I can find some good deals and get products ordered. This supply train has started and it must never stop!
I think it’s going to feel good to start producing things, rather than just being a middleman. I can make stickers, trading cards, decals, papercraft… It’s going to be an grand adventure!
My left wrist hurts. I think it has to do with yoga down dogs and lots of card handling.
This keyboard sucks for my wrists. I’m doing a really bad twist in my writed because of how my arms naturally meet with the keyboard. One of those ergonomic keyboards with the two halves seems really nice right now.
Ooo, you know what would be nice? A frogpad keyboard!
I’ve wanted one of those since I first saw them. The idea is that it’s a keyboard with a layout that requires only one hand.
Unfortunately they’re no longer manufactured. I think there was some drama with licensing or the manufacturer or the CEO… I can’t remember, but they’re not made anymore, and the official website instead just trains people to use the frogpad layout and set up a regular keyboard to use the frogpad layout.
I set up an eBay alert for frogpad keyboards. Apparently this is the officialy suggested method for actually obtaining the frogpad! If I could fine one, I bet I could flip it and make a profit.
I think I just found a rabbit hole of one handed keyboards.

On paper, it seems kinda bland. It sounded better in the moment LOL. I think there was another phrase before that, but I can’t remember it.
I ate at around 10PM. I wasn’t hungry, but I figured that I should eat because I wasn’t tired either. I wanted to make sure that I’m eating a few hours before bed, so I ate then. If I didn’t eat, I think I would have become hungry at around now (1AM) and being sleepy, I would be in danger of binge eating.
I had a wonderful dinner today.
- 1/2 cup (measured uncooked) brown rice
- 3 handfuls chopped Romaine lettuce
- 2 cups black beans (drained & rinsed)
- 2 cups Golden corn
- 1 cup Salsa
- 1 sliced avocado
- 1/2 a small red onion, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
- 4 small corn tortillas, quartered & toasted
I cooked the brown rice, then I made refried beans with the black beans, chopped onion, spices and salt. Super simple– just mash the beans and mix the ingredients over a high heat.
Then I put everything but the tortilla chips in a really big bowl and I happily munched on the meal fit for kings! I think this is a new staple meal for me. It’s incredibly nutritious, healthy, and delicious!
